This week, our co-founder Petr Hamerník attended WAN IFRA’s AI Forum in Paris. This conference connects the biggest innovators in AI and journalism, and we are honored to be part of this inspiring community.
So, what are the key insights for implementing AI into journalistic processes in 2024?
1) Generative AI is here to stay—it can’t be ignored. While still perceived as a threat to the news industry, it’s also seen as a huge opportunity. This means substantial investment in AI, either in-house or external, is necessary right now.
2) AI advances in production and editorial work are the main priorities for most newsrooms. Automatic title suggestions, social media post creation, SEO optimization, and more are helping make journalists’ work faster and easier.
3) RAG systems are a popular use case. Researching one’s own archive with automated tools and automatically generating context (e.g., side boxes or timelines) are saving newsrooms thousands of hours. Perfecting RAG is also a priority for our development in the near future. We’ll keep you posted!
4) Easy integration of AI into media CMS with a focus on UX is a must—and one of the biggest challenges for many.
Excited by the possibilities? This is only the beginning. AI is already hinting at a complete transformation of journalistic processes and new business opportunities for media.
But there’s a catch: A good AI system is not only about development—it also requires long-term professional maintenance. And let’s be honest, an in-house solution isn’t cheap. This is where we can help. Curious about how we can support your enterprise? Let’s connect and explore what AI can do for your newsroom!
